News: Donald Trump refers to the ‘Prince of Whales’ on Twitter

Donald Trump accidentally called Prince Charles the “Prince of Whales” today on Twitter.

The US President was posting in relation to controversial comments made to ABC News about working with foreign governments, when he made the gaffe.

Trump regularly posts about his IQ, writing in March that his “I.Q. is one of the highest – and you all know it!” – something his recent mistake doesn’t quite demonstrate.

The post was swiftly deleted

In a rare move for Trump, who usually leaves posts up on Twitter even when they have grammatical errors or incorrect information, the tweet was deleted and corrected shortly after it was sent.

But that didn’t stop hoards of screenshots being shared across social media.

Our very own Wales Online rebranded their Twitter as a nod to the president’s slip-up.

In fact a short while later, ‘Prince of Whales’ began trending on Twitter, with some jokingly calling for the Prince of Wales to be permanently renamed.

While others considered what their meeting would have been like.

Others posted their best versions of what the Prince of Whales might look like.
