Another Lincolnshire Highlights news story…

Dramatic drone footage has captured the moment three men made off on foot after a crash near Lincoln.

The Lincolnshire Police Drones Twitter account posted a video on their feed on Sunday, June 9 at 11.48pm after a two-vehicle crash that evening.

The force were called to the A156 Lincoln Road at 9.19pm on Saturday, June 8 after a crash involving a BMW and Ford Mondeo estate.

Three suspects fled from the Mondeo car shortly after the crash in an apparent attempt to evade officers.

A drone was then deployed on the scene which was able to track down the three men after an extensive search.

Three men aged between 21 and 31 were all arrested on suspicion of drink-driving and have been released under investigation.

Lincolnshire Police say that the arrests would not have been possible without the help of the hi-tech drone.

A tweet read: “Another great result tonight finding three males who ran from an RTC. The below video shows an officer being guided in for the arrest.

“The supervising sergeant said: ‘Without the drone, would have never found them.””

“Great joint Lincolnshire Police work with Gainsborough Police, Lincolnshire Police Dog Section and a special mention to Lincolnshire Police Specials for the loan of the iPad cable.”
