News: Firefighters scrambled to tackle two ‘severe’ fires just miles apart

Firefighters have been working hard to tackle two stack fires in Lincolnshire.

The first was in Bardney where three fire crews were called to a blaze at Horncastle Road just after 9.30pm last night, Wednesday, September 11.

Lincolnshire Fire and Rescue have revealed the flames caused severe damage to 15 x 20 x 5 metres of stack.

The fire was extinguished the crews from Bardney, Wragby and Lincoln South using two water jets.

 

A tweet put out by Lincolnshire Fire and Rescue said two appliances were still in attendance just before 1am this morning, Thursday.

The fire service then received word of another stack fire in West Lindsey.

Two crews from Gainsborough were called to tackle the flames in East Lane, Corringham at 11.14pm also yesterday evening.

 

The fire caused severe damage to 800 half ton bales of straw.

It was extinguished using two hose reels.

Lincolnshire Fire and Rescue tweeted just before 1am that the crews were still in attendance with the farmer.
