Man found with head injury

Police have revealed the cordon is in place after a man was found with a head injury in the early hours of the morning.

They say the man told paramedics at 2.34am that he had been robbed by two men, although they believe the incident could have taken place some time before then.

They are appealing for any witnesses to come forward.

A police spokesperson said:

Incident 22 of today (12 September) relates to a man in his 50s who was taken to hospital for treatment for a head injury. He reported that he had been robbed by two men who had taken his money.

We were alerted to the incident by Ambulance crew at 02:34 although the incident could have occurred some time prior. A scene guard is in place at a bus shelter on North Parade.

We would like to appeal to anyone in the area of North Parade in the early hours who might have witnessed this, or anyone who has any information that could assist our enquiry.
