News: Plans for new Costa Coffee and KFC drive-thru just off A46

Another Lincolnshire Highlights news story…

A new Costa Coffee and KFC drive-thru could be coming to a site just off the A46.

That’s because a planning application has been submitted to North Kesteven District Council to bring both to a town just outside of Lincoln.

The planned development would be built on Teal Park Road, just south of Whisby Road in North Hykeham.

It is about five miles away from Lincoln city centre.

Both restaurants would have a driv-thru facility and be single-storey, welcoming in motorists travelling on the nearby Whisby roundabout – which connects the A46 and Whisby Road.

The opening hours have been listed as 7am until 6pm from Monday until Saturday. Planners say that the site is ‘not anticipated’ to be open on Sunday but this may take place once the site is open.

There would be 74 car parking spaces between the restaurant and cafe.

There are currently four Costa Coffee sites in Lincoln: on the High Street, Brayford Wharf North, Valentine Retail Unit, St Mark’s Shopping Centre and the Carlton Centre.

The Costa Coffee on the High Street shut unexpectedly last month.

Lincoln currently also houses two KFC restaurants on the High Street and on Nettleham Road.

North Kesteven District Council’s planning committee will now consider the application.

It has been submitted by Taylor Home Lindsey – the company that owns Teal Park.
