News: Reaction as Wild Bill hits the TV screens -What did you think?

Another Lincolnshire Highlights news story…

Wild Bill hit our TV screens last night and was watched by almost 4 million viewers according to overnight TV ratings.

The ITV show was the most watched programme in the 9-10pm slot making it more popular than Love Island, but what did Bostonians make of the drama?

Severed heads, drug dealers and cabbages made an appearance in the first episode and some members of the public were able to spot some familiar places in the show.

Here’s what you thought of the show.

Tracey Banks said: “I liked it! Great to see the different places in Lincolnshire.”

Cheryl Edwards said: “I really enjoyed it different but watchable.”

Julie Perrot said: “It was good to be far fetched, not too serious and not too focused on knife crime. Plus if anyone goes missing in Boston, they’ll know to check their Freezers, lol.

“I suppose it depends on what type of viewing people like.

“If you wanted something like ‘Line of Duty’ I don’t think that would have been good for Boston! That definitely would scare people away!

“It was easy watching and not meant to be a advert or documentary for our town.

“It’s so far removed from city life, plus we have some stunning skies and landscapes for the world to see. Hope this will help attract tourists to come here.”

Arguably the biggest talking point for Bostonians – were the attempts at a Lincolnshire accent.

Debbie Barton said: “I didn’t think it was that bad….apart from the accents.

“I did like the dark sarcastic undertones popping up though.”

Corrine Watson said: “I enjoyed it, aerial shot of Freiston was stunning, liked the place name mentions too.

“My only criticism was the Yorkshire accents… That’s just weird.”

Others thought the show was a bit of a let down but good to see some familiar sights on the television.

Brian Weekes said: “A bit of a let down to be honest, story and acting wise.

“Great to see familiar places on the tv, and some shots nowhere near here.”

Jo bush said: ” It did seem to focus on the wind turbines, hateful things.

“With all the lovely scenery available, they use them! Crazy!”

Olivia Francesca said: “Rubbish but I shall watch again next week just cause it’s Boston.”
