News: Shock as car ploughs into wall on busy Lincoln road

A woman has been taken to hospital after her car ploughed into a wall on a busy road in Lincoln.

There were long delays after a red Volvo collided with a boundary wall of a property on Greetwell Road.

The female driver of the vehicle has been taken to Lincoln County Hospital.

One passerby was left shocked as he saw the car surrounded by rubble as he drove past.

He said: “I was in total shock. The car was surrounded by bricks as a policeman guided traffic round the vehicle.

“I couldn’t believe the sight of the airbags in the car.

“I got out to speak to the police to see if everything was alright.

“I stood next to the car and someone said are you alright do you need any help, it wasn’t my car but I felt reassured.

“Hopefully nobody has been badly hurt.”

A spokesperson from Lincolnshire Police said: “This was a single vehicle collision in which a Volvo has collided with a wall.

“The female driver of the car has been taken to Lincoln County Hospital with non life-threatening injuries.

“It was reported at 8.16am today and happened on Greetwell Road.

“Incident 65 of today.”
