Another Lincolnshire Highlights news story…

A woman was left in shock after she found a dead dog that had been tied up in a bag and dumped in the woods.

Suzi Slight was walking in Skellingthorpe Woods at 7.30am yesterday, Tuesday August 20, when her dogs alerted her to something in a large laundry bag in a ditch.

When she looked closer she saw two paws poking out of the bag and immediately called her dogs back.

Suzi said: “I knew exactly what it was. I called my dogs back, put them on leads and went to have a closer look but she wasn’t moving.

“I actually didn’t know what to do at the time but I knew I had to do something.

“I took my dogs home and went to pick up two more as I’m a dog walker.

“I went back to the woods to find a person I know who always walks his dogs at the same time every morning and raised the alarm.

“I called the police who guided me what to do and who to call.”

Suzi posted the image of the dog online to ask if anyone had a dog that was stolen or missing.

She said: “Her face is a mess. Who could do this, disgusting, I did all I could. RIP lovely girl.”

The post received thousands of comments, reactions and shares with many people wondering who could do such a thing to an animal.

One person said: “That is absolutely disgusting, poor thing, the people deserve the same in fact no they deserve worse. Disgusting people. Poor poor animal.”

Another person added: “Vile, sick, evil, the list goes on. Why? If you don’t want a dog there are so many ways to pass a dog on safely.

“People like this don’t deserve to breathe the same air as us. Run free over rainbow bridge little one.”

A third person added: “I honestly didn’t think humans could disgust me any more than they do. They are the worst.

“Rest easy angel.”

The RSPCA have been approached for a comment.
