Another Lincolnshire Highlights news story…

A couple from Lincolnshire are to appear on the next episode of Grand Designs with their show-stopping five bedroom lake side house.

Paul and Amy Wilkinson from Old Leake will feature on the show alongside host Kevin McCloud when they take on the ambitious task of creating a £1.2 million home on a 16-acre plot.

The programme, which has been on the air for 20 years, follows some of the most ambitious house builds across the country and follows them from the initial stages right through to completion.

The design is based around Lincolnshire’s rich history and in particular the roundhouses of the British/Celtic Iceni tribe.

The tribe lived in Lincolnshire during the Iron Age and was ruled by Boudica, who led an uprising against the Roman Empire in AD 60/61.
