News: Which roads are shut for the Lincolnshire Show 2019? Here’s what you need to know

Another Lincolnshire Highlights news story…

The Lincolnshire Show attracts tens of thousands of visitors every year.

With many choosing to attend in their own cars, it’s hardly surprising the event impacts local roads.

This year’s show will be held on June 19 and 20 at the Lincolnshire Showground, and, as ever, there will be road closures and diversions affecting everyone in the area – show traffic and local residents.

Be prepared in advance with our guide to which roads will be shut…

As in previous years the A15 from the A46 Lincoln by-Pass to the A631 at Caenby Corner will be closed to all but Lincolnshire Show traffic.

Drivers are asked to follow the directions and instructions that are given by traffic marshalls, police officers and society stewards – they are aware of where delays currently are and which car parks have the most space.

You are also asked to plan to approach to Lincolnshire Showground the way you wish to depart.

Routes to the show will be signposted.

Lincolnshire Show restrictions:

On Wednesday and Thursday, June 19 and 20, there will be Road Closure Orders in place on the following roads:

  • Riseholme Lane (closed at A15 junction), Riseholme
  • A15 (A631 to A46), Caenby Corner/Lincoln
  • A1500 (B1398 to A15), Scampton
  • Hall Lane (closed at A15 junction), Grange De Lings
  • Horncastle Lane, Grange De Lings

On Wednesday and Thursday, June 19 and 20, there will be a 30mph Speed Limit Order in place on:

  • A1500 Till Bridge Lane (between Southings Lane, Scampton and A15 roundabout)

The orders mean restrictions will be implemented as and when required during the show, and signage detailing dates and times will be displayed in advance.

Local diversion routes will be signposted.

This year’s show will feature special celebrations to mark the 150th anniversary of the Lincolnshire Agricultural Society, the charity that organises the event.

Many visitors will be delighted that the RAF Falcons will be parachuting in once again.

And, television programme, The Martin Lewis Money Show, is also attending, offering visitors the chance to meet the financial guru who will answer questions from the public over the two days.

Now in its 135th year, the Lincolnshire Show offers a wide range of activities from animal displays and daring stunts in the Main Ring, to food stalls and live cookery demos.

The two-day programme also includes a Dakota flypast, acrobatic stunts from the UK’s top ranked freestyle motocross riders Broke FMX, the Shetland Pony Grand National, and performances from the Lincolnshire Fire and Rescue band.
