The future of Lincoln City manager Danny Cowley looks uncertain this morning after reports emerged that he has agreed to take over at Huddersfield Town.
Huddersfield originally requested permission to speak to the Cowleys over a week ago after meeting the club’s compensation figure, reportedly around £1million.
The Cowleys originally rebuffed the Terriers’ approach. Speaking last week, Danny said: “We had the opportunity to speak to Huddersfield and decided it wasn’t the right time.
“We’ve got full respect for Huddersfield. It was nothing to do with them as a football club, it was just the timing and the role we’re in. It’s a role we’re very committed to. It’s a club we’re very proud to be a part of.”
The Cowleys were then strongly linked with Sheffield Wednesday, who eventually appointed Garry Monk as new manager on Friday.
However, the speculation over their future did not end there, with their odds on becoming the next Huddersfield boss plummeting over the weekend.
And this morning, reports have emerged that Cowley will indeed be the next Huddersfield manager.
