Michael Flynn says there has been no contact from Lincoln City over the vacant manager’s job.
The Newport County boss is the early favourite for the role according to the bookmakers, with some offering odds of 4/5 that he will be the man to replace Danny Cowley.
Flynn has attracted admiring glances from across football after saving The Exiles from relegation from League Two and turning them into promotion contenders with a smaller budget than some of the other teams in the division.
And now for the first time, he has spoken publicly about speculation linking him with the Imps.
The Welshman admitted he was flattered to be linked with the role when speaking at a press conference this morning, Friday, September 13, reports South Wales Argus.
However, the 38-year-old revealed there has been no contact from Lincoln City .
Newport County have also moved to quash the speculation.
The Welsh club has also say there has been no approach for their manager, according to the same newspaper.
However, it is understood SkyBet has suspended betting on him being the new City manager.
Meanwhile, the other favourite for the role, Wycombe Wanderers’ Gareth Ainsworth is also expected to face the press today.
